Hung Liu's "Map No. 33" is one of many pieces of public art on exhibit at Moscone Center.

Benefit / Giving

Among the greatest contributions we make each year to our community are the benefits that flow to dozens of nonprofits from our well-recognized recycling program. In addition to diverting 75% of the center's waste stream by volume from landfill, we enable the donation of goods and materials to schools and charitable organizations in our community. This past year we diverted more than 1,200 tons from the waste stream, contributing more than 200 tons to the non-profit sector.

Beneficiaries include feeding programs at the San Francisco Food Bank, St. Anthony's Foundation, Salvation Army, Dolores Street Services, AIDS funding organization Under One Roof, Bay Area high school prom organizing committees, and children's arts and crafts programs.

In this role we stand alone among the nation's convention centers, as ours remains the most comprehensive program by far in supporting community goals for sustainability and resource recovery.
