Rules for Use of Personal Mobility Devices - ADA and Non-ADA

Electric Scooters

The use of electric scooters is permissible only under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Rental arrangements can be made directly with a local provider such as Scoot-Around :(888) 441-7575 or www.scootaround.com.

Wheelchairs

Moscone Center does not have wheelchairs available for attendee use. Rental arrangements can be made directly with a local provider such as Scoot-Around: (888) 441-7575 or www.scootaround.com.

Segways

The use of Segways is permitted under the provisions of the ADA. The operation of Segways for any other purpose is limited to uncarpeted exhibit halls, and only on move days. The non-ADA use of Segways in any public space is prohibited.

Bicycles

The use of bicycles is restricted to move-in and move-out periods and on concrete surfaces only (Exhibit Halls).  Use of bicycles in any public space is prohibited.

Electric Carts

The use of electric carts is restricted to move-in and move-out periods and on concrete surfaces only (Exhibit Halls).  Use of electric carts in any public space is prohibited.

Hoverboards, Scooters, and Skateboards

The use of hover boards is limited to public roadways in accordance to California State Law AB604. The operation of hoverboards, scooters and skateboards is prohibited in all areas of The Moscone Center.

 

Important Notes:
  • All motorized devices must be operated at the speed of pedestrian traffic.
  • Storage and/or charging are not available for mobility devices.
  • The liability for non-ADA devices used in the Moscone Center will be assumed by the rider’s employer, and it is the responsibility of each employer to convey this policy to their employees.
  • The Moscone Center reserves the right to revoke all privileges regarding bicycles, electric carts, and non-ADA use Segways without notice.
