Moscone's Theatrical Services staff can turn ordinary events into extraordinary experiences. If you're planning to use staging, special lighting, scenery, rigging, or have technically complex sessions, general sessions, keynotes, or other high-production functions, our Theatrical Services staff can be an important part of your planning and performance process.
Our seasoned technical and creative staff bring a broad range of event production skills to the planning and staging process. From trade shows to keynotes to concerts, Theatrical Services will take your event from conception to completion, including design, management, equipment and construction.

Lighting Rental
The correct lighting makes your event stand out. From the conventional static lighting to the high tech style of moving lights, Theatrical Services can create the look you need. Rigging
Rigging your event is a careful precise process. Our in-house rigging department can assist you starting from the planning stages. Our inventory of rigging equipment allows us to help events with their rigging needs. Truss and Motors are only the beginning, selecting the right way to install your rig is key to a safe and successful event.
Please note that Moscone Theatrical Services is exclusive for rigging in three areas of the facility, Moscone North Wedding Cake Truss, Moscone South Lobby Motorized High Truss, and Moscone West Alcoves blackout drape. Please contact your Event Manager or Theatrical Services for more information on any of these areas.
Staging and Draperies
Finding just the right look for your event is as important as the content of the program. Theatrical Services can assist in making that look as unique or as traditional as you need. Hard wall set or maybe just some draperies. Let us help from design to completion.
Theatrical Services can provide a wide array of equipment as well as Stagehand onboarding/payroll services for your production and breakout needs.
House Head
If your event includes a general session or a large meeting that utilizes staging, lighting, large-scale video and sound reinforcement, major theatrical presentations, and/or any use of pyrotechnics or foggers/hazers - you need to plan on including our House Head as part of your team.
Regardless of whom you select as your audio visual supplier or your production company, the facility’s House Head must be utilized. The Moscone House Head is appointed by the facility to assist you and the IATSE Local 16 crews to install, operate, and dismantle any large production.
The Moscone House Head acts as the union-required shop steward for the crew, eliminates the need for a redundant shop steward hired from the union, and offers a thorough understanding of jurisdictional requirements. The House Head is an experienced technician who understands our building systems and has a responsibility for using them correctly and efficiently.
